Loren Holmes is a photojournalist based in Anchorage, Alaska. Loren loves Alaska and its people, and enjoys sharing Alaska's unique stories with others through still and moving images. He has traveled throughout the state on assignment for magazines, newspapers and corporate clients, including The New York Times, Associated Press, Google, Anchorage Daily News, Alaska Newspapers, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Sunset, First Alaskans Magazine, Alaska Magazine, US News & World Report, Schweizer Illustrierte (Switzerland), Elsevier (the Netherlands), and UNESCO.

The only child of an archaeologist and anthropologist, he earned a B.A. in philosophy before completing his master's in photography at Ohio University's School of Visual Communication. Before joining Alaska Dispatch, an Alaska-based online-only news site, as its Multimedia Editor and sole photographer, he spent six months teaching photography and English in India, and interned with former National Geographic photographer J. Bruce Baumann at the Evansville Courier & Press.
